Loving Pastels for Nursery

How cute are pastels for a kids bedroom?!! The great thing is it can transcend between genders (maybe not pink??) but the rest can. I am not a massive fan of the stereotypical girls room or boys room it's always fun to get creative with different colour pallets.

Look at the new gorgeous range from Cotton On Kids....

This would be cute in a little girls room for any age! (Range available in September)

Geometric is also very in vogue at the moment and again suits any gender or age (I even love it in my bedding) check out the set I bought my son

Available now from Adairs Kids. I also got the cute throw pillows to add character and give a theme to the room.

Throw pillows...don't even get me started I have enough to set up my own shop but that's a story for another day.

Hips Don't Lie...

Shakira has a second baby on the way! The Colombian singer and her boyfriend, Gerard Pique, have revealed that they are expecting just 19 months after welcoming their first son Milan. Congratulations. No doubt she will be a stylish mum whilst pregnant...

No time to be sick when you're a mum

I have fought a hard fight....and thought I had won the battle but unfortunately I lost a war and now I'm home sick...its like the universe forcing me to take a break....however I can't understand this 'take a break' concept...I'm sitting here trying to relax as my little one is with his father and all I can think is...I should vacuum...do the washing...go to the bank...get the groceries  all those things that are hard to do with a little one wanting to do something else...and right now I cant even work out where to buy a coffee from...which is the only medicine I need right about now...
However when you look at it you need to take a break to be the best mum you can be as you can't function at 40% when the kids are home. So all those mums out there who are like me and running around on their sick day getting jobs done...pour yourself a coffee, grab a blanket sit on the couch and watch your favourite movie, or read a book, and if you feel yourself falling asleep them why not?!! Now to take my own advice...

A mum mantra...

Something I always forget to do and I bet most mums do. However it's important not only for mums but for everyone. Try and make time for yourself everyday even if it's only for 15mins.

Dealing with the 'father'

Don't get me wrong my little boys father loves him without a doubt but he seems to act more like his irresponsible mate then his dad...he has him 2 days a week (today obviously one of them) and he is meant to meet me at a cafe at 7:30 and without fail he is late every time leaving me with a restless child and me running late for work...

Now for single mums who do changeovers with there ex partners at a Macdonald I was given the suggestion to make it a nice family friendly cafe where the parent that is collecting the child can sit have a coffee and time with the child as opposed to rushing off back home making it less like a transition and more of a postive experience.

Fact

I can't help but feel this statistic is based on fact
not fiction...my child is one of the lucky 9...

Me and my main man...

About me...I'm a single mum of a little man who is almost 2. It's the hardest job I have ever done but I wouldn't give it up for the world. As a young mother working full time I find it hard to have the energy to look good, feel good and be an adult, as well as being first and foremost a mum...but I try. I am always looking for tips and tricks, and kid friendly places, to ensure I do things for me, along with being the best mum I can be...it tough but I'm confident it can be done. Follow me on my adventure to feeling human again by simply putting on a bit of lipstick and taking on the world...
